Hyderabad: People of Karnataka are regretting having Congress in power as the government has begun its exercise to fleece their voters by hiking the price of petrol and diesel, said Telangana state BJP official spokesperson NV Subhash, here on Monday.

The Congresss-led government in Karnataka on June 15 increased the retail sales tax on fuels, following which petrol prices went up by Rs 3 while diesel rates became dearer by Rs 3.50. “Barely a fortnight after LokSabha election results were announced, true colours of Siddaramaiah government has been exposed. Firstly, the government there deceived people with its impractical guarantees, and now it is increasing the prices of fuel. More anti-people decisions are awaited to unfold ahead,” Subhash said.

He further mentioned a similar state that people of Telangana are going to face as the government here plans on increasing registration charges of agriculture and non-agriculture land and properties from August. “A hike in registration fee will affect real estate business directly and indirectly. The proposed decision would put additional burden on those who wanted to own a house,” Subhash added.

He alleged that the guarantees announced by Congress were made to capture power without thinking of its implication. Cautioning people to be wary about Congress, he said that impracticable guarantees neither ensure welfare of people nor shape a healthy economy of the state.
